What is an unlisted URL?

An unlisted URL is a web address to a collection of photos on photoEcoz. Any person that you give this web address to will be able to see all the photos in that particular collection. You can change or delete the unlisted URL at anytime to stop unlisted URL access to this collection.

You may have a collection that you're only allowing a few of your photoEcoz friends to see. Giving the unlisted URL to Jack and Jill (who may or may not be photoEcoz users) will also allow them to see the photos. Any person who has this web address can see the collection of photos - until you delete or change the unlisted URL, effectively revoking their access.

Unlisted URLs can even be created for Private collections.

Creating an unlisted URL

Unlisted URLs can be created and deleted from the Collection settings.

  1. From the Manage photos page (click Photos->Manage photos from the menu at the top of the page)
  2. Select your collection on the left
  3. Click on 'Collection settings' on the top right
  4. Click on the 'Unlisted URL' tab
  5. Click on 'Generate new URL'
  6. Copy the new web address and email it to friends.

If you generate a new URL, the old one will not work anymore.

How does it help me share?

Unlisted URLs on of the many ways photoEcoz allows you to share your photos.

Some examples of where unlisted URLs can be used:

  • You've taken photos for a client and only want to give them access
  • Temporarily allow some friends to see a collection (and they may not be photoEcoz users)
  • Simply share the collection with some people by giving them the web address
